What is a Motion?

A Motion is a formal legal document filed by a plaintiff/petitioner or a defendant/respondent to ask or request for something in your case. The Motion can be for a variety of reasons or relief and is usually reviewed by the judge or a magistrate. The judge will make an order or determine whether your motion is granted, denied without setting a hearing or a hearing may be set before they make a ruling.
